Maple Grove Arts Center
The Maple Grove Arts Center (MGAC) features an artist’s gallery and an area for art classes. Activities include events such as the Red Show and the Green Show, Black & White Show featuring artists from Maple Grove and the surrounding area. The arts center also runs the Maple Grove Days Art Fair and participates in the Halloween and Holiday events that the Arbor Lakes Association sponsors on Main Street. The center presents excellent art classes for children of all ages and adults—teachers are the artists.
The arts center also hosts visiting arts shows from the Iraqi & American Reconciliation Project and TOSCA Literary Magazine.
Besides art classes and gallery shows, the arts center hosts a writer’s guild the, “Night Writers” who meet weekly at the center; a theater class for children with autism and downs syndrome taught by an organization called In The Company of Kids Theater.” The center also presents the Comedy Tech school taught by Scott Hanson, and MGAC co-sponsors Comedy on the Green with the City of Maple Grove.
The Maple Grove Arts Center is a 501c3 nonprofit arts center. Their mission is: To provide fine art, musical and theatrical exploration and appreciation opportunities. The arts center’s vision: To become highly visible, vibrant, financially stable organization, offering quality art, education and art appreciation with extensive community participation, outreach and patron involvement.
